Kollege Boi, along with his sister, was born and raised in Mayfield, KY. As a child he was usually quiet and observant when around strangers but he was very outgoing when he was around family and friends. At a young age his mother introduced him to music. As his musical interests evolved over the years he found himself strongly influenced by artists from the New Orleans based Cash Money Records label.
While attending Mayfield High School, Kollege Boi excelled in sports. He spent his high school years participating in football, basketball, as well as track. After graduating high school in 2001 he attended Murray State University. Although, he was happy about his new journey, he realized there was something missing.
In the winter of 2006 that missing something took shape in the form of music. He took up an interest in writing rhymes and making music himself. When his sister informed him his younger cousin, A1, was also interested in rapping, he took his newfound dream from fantasy to a very real reality. From there the group Bloodhound Ent (BHE) was formed. The group went on to make a name for themselves locally opening for artists such as Blood Raw, Yung Dro, Big Kuntry, Yo Gotti, Bohagon, Twista, and Pleasure P.
In 2011, BHE is no longer together, however, Kollege Boi and two members from the original crew, A1 and Yung Chu, have joined forces with a new member, Unit, and formed a new group Da Hit Squad. They have signed with the upcoming record label Fliptown Records and are preparing to release their first mixtape titled “The Take Over” in mid-October.
